tagging
Your 3X5 index card tag should look like the example below. It's just that easy!!
Please pay careful attention to your consignor number. Be sure not to transpose your numbers. We will not accept items that have cross outs or scribbles on the tags. If you need to change something on a tag after you have it on the item, you must make a brand new tag for that item.
CAREFULLY follow these instructions. Refer to illustrations on this page. Items must be prepared as indicated by tagging instructions.
TAG DETAILS: (see example above)
-
DRAW A STAR in the bottom right corner of your tag TO DONATE your unsold item. LEAVE IT BLANK if you will be PICKING UP these items.
-
Price in lower center of tag AND upper right corner. CIRCLE PRICE IN RED if you DO NOT WANT your item in the 50% OFF SALE. If you plan to donate your unsold items, let things go for half-price!
-
Use estimated numerical size of clothing (ie: 2T, size 5, etc.), Maternity may be S, M, L, XL, XXL
-
Indicate boy or girl below size of item.
-
Describe the item. Be as descriptive as possible. Use name brands in the event a tag gets separated from the item. If your item qualifies as “new” or “only worn twice,” write that in your description. Include quantity of items here (3 pc set, etc.)
TAGGING GUIDELINES : (see example above)
-
USE ONLY 3X5 INDEX CARDS OR CARDSTOCK (any color is acceptable).
-
Keep all of your information in the lower 2/3's portion of the tag.
-
NO CROSSOUTS ON TAGS.
-
Price your items at a minimum of $2.00 (exception for books).
-
For large items (i.e. strollers, swings, ride-on toys, etc.) - Place masking tape with your consignor number and price on the bottom or under side of each item. This helps identify your item in case the card is lost.
-
All clothing items above 12 months MUST BE HUNG ON A WIRE HANGER. You may, use small plastic hangers for items sized 12 months and smaller.
-
Hang clothing so the hanger makes a question mark (?) from front.
-
Regular sized wire hangers can be obtained from a dry cleaner for free or for a minimum charge.
-
We recommend that you print duplicates of your cards to reconcile your inventory.
PINNING : (see examples below)
-
Use only one inch or larger safety pins to attach tag. No straight pins.
-
Attach safety pin up and down, vertically on the card.
-
Place tag on upper right of clothing item. If clothing item is at risk of getting a hole from the pin, please use the clothing tag at the center back of your item to place your 3 X 5 card.
-
Pin clothing sets securely together with pants hung on the backside of the shirt and pinned at the waist of the pants on the upper part of the hanger. Both pieces can be viewed without unpinning them. SETS SELL BEST so consider pulling together an outfit when possible. For example, try pairing a boy's polo shirt with a pair of khaki pants.
-
Any matching shoes or accessories can be pinned to the outfit directly or placed into a Ziploc bag and hooked over the hanger as well as pinned to the hanger for extra security.
-
If you have more than one of an item that you want to sell together you may put each item on its own hanger and rubber-band the hangers together.
-
Single pants/skirts should be safety pinned to the top of the hanger. Tip-place pin a couple inches from each side to keep item more secure.
TIP : Get ready for our next sale! As your child outgrows clothing, wash it, hang it, and tag it. This will make preparation a breeze for our next sale.
